A Look Back: Columbus Black International Film Festival
Take a look back at CJ Johnson giving a keynote presentation at the Columbus Black International Film Festival where he highlighted the awesome city of Columbus, Ohio:
“In my keynote presentation, I talked about future marketing trends and how the art of storytelling works when it comes to branding. If you’re curious as to why I was speaking at a film festival, I should note that as a former independent filmmaker and video editor, I found much of my current success because of the 10+ years of experience in that arena. I’m also an early adopter so when social media first arrived I was quick to grow a following to promote my creative works. It evolved from there. Remember, everything is connected and life’s journey has many twists and turns. I always knew I wanted to creatively inspire people. That’s what I did and that’s what I’m currently doing.
Now, Columbus Ohio is a special place with so much to experience, from the electric nightlife to the different styles of culture throughout the city. It was awesome to visit the midwest and be a part of something special like the Columbus Black International Film Festival (CBIFF). The main objective of the CBIFF is to showcase diverse filmmakers locally, nationally, and internationally while highlighting a spectrum of stories told by people of the African diaspora. It’s a special film festival that is doing a fantastic job spotlighting the diversity in Ohio. I’m proud to have been a part of the experience.”
